About the Talent Development Unit

The Talent Development Unit formulates and implements policies and initiatives to grow a pipeline of future ready workforce by infusing design into our national skills sets. The policies and initiatives aim to capitalise on the growth opportunities in the 4th Industrial Revolution and to address challenges in skills gaps, using a multiple-pronged approach to cater to the needs of both designers and non-designers across General Education (GE), Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET).

Roles and Responsibilities

Do you have an interest in understanding and be involved in developing policies and programmes to nurture a design-empowered workforce? Are you keen to work with stakeholders such as schools, companies, designers and government agencies to shape and influence design policies and programmes?

We are looking for an Intern who is passionate about design and enjoys working with people.  

Here is what you will do:

  • Support the conceptualisation and review of existing and/or new talent development programmes and initiatives to help our local design students and workforce take on in-demand and emerging job roles;
  • Work with key industry stakeholders (enterprises, designers, training providers, institutes of higher learning and relevant government agencies) in the design and non-design sectors to gather intelligence and sensing of the manpower situation, actual vacancies and roles for hire; and
  • Provide administrative support in daily upkeep of Talent Development division’s programmes, which may include staffing team-wide meetings, procurement matters and knowledge management.

During the internship, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to the design, development and execution of talent development policies, programmes and initiatives;
  • Work with cross-functional teams to support the running of talent development programmes;
  • Gain real-world experience in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
  • Develop and sharpen stakeholder engagement, project management and communications skills; and
  • Be immersed in our open, vibrant, and fun-loving culture!


  • Be a student in a local polytechnic / university with a passion for design education
  • Able to commit at least 4 to 6 months on a full-time basis
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Self-starter with willingness to take on new challenges, aspiration for personal and professional development, and desire to explore and learn
  • Team player who is independent, resilient, passionate about design and education
  • Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new things in a fast-paced environment
